Hi, I'm Melody. I am a mother of two, and a Certified Lactation Counselor. After giving birth to my first child, I found that breastfeeding didn't come as naturally as I thought it was supposed to.

My son wouldn't latch. In the hospital, I was told to just keep putting him to my breast, and pump if he didn't latch. I tried this for 4 weeks, determined to breastfeed. I was getting more frustrated as the days went by, and was debating exclusively pumping. I was also constantly being told to switch to formula by well-meaning family members.
My husband finally encouraged me to call a lactation consultant. After sitting down with her for 2 hours, my breastfeeding journey was forever changed. I sat there in happy tears as she helped me successfully latch my son for the first time.
Since then, I have wanted to help breastfeeding mothers anyway I can. I hope this site can answer some common breastfeeding and pumping concerns. Breastfeeding is natural but it doesn't always come naturally.
